Daniel Williamson I like this song because i can relate to the lyrics. I've been coming back to this song for years now, and i have realised for that reason that it is a timeless gem.
Such a well written song, musically and lyrically, and it flows along so well.
I know i will be listening to this tune in ten years time, and it won't wear or age in any way at all to me.
Probably the most underrated piece of music i have ever heard, and i am glad to have it.

If you were to ever go I'd miss you like a vampire misses sleep. Like how the sand would miss the sea, or how the Beauty would miss the Beast. I need you here like an iron lung. To keep me breathing through the day. Like how a hot day needs the breeze to blow. Like how the winter needs the snow. If you have to leave, out on your heels, I'd keep it together somehow. I will always be longing to be where I am now. and if you ever strayed I'd miss you, like the oceans would miss the waves. Like how a house fire longs for rain. Like how the scarecrow needed a brain. I'd feel the loss like an open wound, your silence like a draft. I need you like a double bed needs two lovers inside, like how a sitcom needs a laugh. If you have to leave, out on your heels, I'd keep it together somehow. I will always be longing to be where I am now. If you were to go, off on your toes, I'd keep it together somehow, but I will long to be exactly where I am now. If you go and you wont come back I'd feel your silence like a draft. If you have to leave, out on your heels, I'd keep it together somehow. I will always be longing to be where I am now. If you were to go, off on your toes, I'd keep it together somehow, but I will long to be exactly where I am now. But I know you'll never go. I know you'll never leave. We go together like tea and toast. Needle and thread. Stamp and envelope. If you were to ever go I'd miss you like a vampire misses sleep. Like how the sand would miss the sea, or how the Beauty would miss the Beast.

There is a cast of characters you don't see. There are scores of extras in this movie. There are selfish sons and wayward ones, teenage tearaways on the run. A daughter comes home pregnant, shes fourteen. There is a cast of characters for you to see. There are tons of people working hard behind the scenes. There's a mothers love for a drugged up son, a single father who will struggle on, and children who cant sleep because they're hungry. This is the world we live in. People working every single night, just to sleep alone, in a bed that's never made. In a house that never feels like home. We take it all for granted, this air that we breathe. The characters we meet. Welcome to the world. There is a cast of characters you don't see. There's a million and one best sellers for you to read. You may laugh at the old lady who talks to her dog, but its just something to love now her husbands gone. A friendly ear to talk to. Shes lonely. There is a cast of characters to meet and greet. There are countless people rewriting there stories. There's a tracksuit teen, who gives up his seat. A well-mannered junkie. Kiddie fiddling priest. A daughter comes home pregnant. Shes fourteen. This is the world we live in. People working every single night, just to sleep alone, in a bed that's never made. In a house that never feels like home. We take it all for granted, this air that we breathe. The characters we meet. Welcome to the world.

about

Skellums Wales, UK

Skellums was formed because there was nothing else left to do.

Underneath all the dirty guitars and drums, there lives a pop song. Skellums believe, that as long as you have a melody, you can get away with all sorts.
